Jennifer L. Scheffer’s Success Story

Seesaw has been instrumental in helping our K-5 students build a digital portfolio of their work that can be shared with not only their teachers but also their parents/guardians. Students love adding creative artifacts that demonstrate the knowledge and skills they are developing in various subject areas. One of the students’ favorite projects is creating a video tour of their classroom for their parents. This project exposes students to the video tool and allows them to explain each area of their classroom and what takes place in that area. This simple project lends itself to capturing student voices in the most authentic way possible. It also provides opportunities for collaboration as students discuss and plan how to record their videos. It provides the perfect sneak peek into the classroom before our actual in-person open house. As a district Digital Learning Coach, I love seeing my colleagues embrace this project and give students experience with Seesaw at the very start of the school year.
