I work in a low income area where parents are barely able to afford the little bit of food on the table, so you can imagine how hard it is to get parents involved in their child’s learning. I had a young boy this year struggling academically and behaviorally. I would try to call his parents and arrange conferences, but due to their busy schedules, it seemed impossible. So, I started using Seesaw to communicate his strengths and weaknesses. They then would comment on his work, send video feedback, or even work with him at home right before bed. By the end of the year, he was 100% on level and my relationship with the parents was stronger than ever.
