In my first grade classroom, my students’ skills and knowledge vary greatly. Seesaw allows me to quickly find and assign activities that fit the needs of my students. For example, in math, I have some students working on partners of 5, others working on partners of 10, and others still working on unknown addends. It takes me less than 5 minutes to search for activities for each group that I can easily assign. All of my students are then working on “math” but at the level and skills they need. The plethora of free activities makes this possible and so easy!
Seesaw is part of our routine, every Monday my students check in with me via a morning Seesaw activity. It’s the first thing they do when they enter the classroom is let me know how they’re doing after the weekend. This became one of my absolute favorite activities and something I made sure to never skip. Students have opened up to me about personal things via our Monday morning routine. Students also have the opportunity to share exciting and fun news, which cuts down on the “storytelling” later. This simple activity helped me grow a deeper relationship with each student.
Seesaw allows me to quickly find and assign activities that fit the needs of my students.
