I love that Seesaw gives me the platform to push out lessons for students to listen to and work on independently. This gives me more time and freedom to help my first graders work out misconceptions and apply the skills taught through the Seesaw platform in a smaller group based on what I can see through their Seesaw check-ins.
After checking my students’ Seesaw work, I noticed a small group of students all had the same misconception. Four of my students were using the letter c to spell all words beginning with the /k/ sound. I was able to isolate those four students into a small group during center time and reteach the cat/kite lesson to only those students who needed it instead of using whole group instruction that would likely have been ineffective since the majority of my students have already mastered that skill. Using Seesaw, I could isolate only the students who needed to be retaught the skill.
