I first came to Seesaw as a graduate teacher who really wanted a way to document student learning growth. Over the years it’s become more than just a documentation tool – it helps build classroom (and community) connections, assists in ongoing formative assessment practises, and builds student independence and confidence. I remember working with my Foundation (Kindergarten) students on a word-building task – they were so proud to be able to add text and audio and to revisit their learning and share it with their peers, older buddies, and their families. The feedback from families around being able to see the learning of their children was really positive and helped build strong classroom-family connections.
